Welcome to the most luxurious of all American ski resorts, Beaver Creek, Colorado. But because it is so white glove, so luxurious and so family-friendly, with arguably the best grooming in the entire industry, the skiing and riding tends to get overlooked. But the heart and soul of what makes Beaver Creek tick and what makes it special is the perfectly designed village, the resort’s beating heart. Heated sidewalks ensure that no visitor must walk around town in snow, while strategically placed escalators throughout the pedestrian village mean no one need climb or descend stairs in ski boots—Beaver Creek was built from the ground up to provide the ultimate guest experience.
From the Beaver Lake Trail, about 1/3 of a mile below the lake itself, you'll find the well marked sign for the Royal Elk Trail. The trail immediate starts traversing the Royal Elk ski run. The trail pitches steeply at times, and you cross a couple bridges across running springs. You'll emerge onto a few of the Grouse Mountain and Birds of Prey runs and get amazing views down the valley to Beaver Creek village. And yes—plenty of beavers to be seen here.
The Vilar Performing Arts Center is located in the heart of Beaver Creek and presents a world class variety of year-round performances including concerts, jazz, comedy, dance, film, Broadway musicals and more.
